Event Type for Admin Use only - hidden from General Users

We would like to be able to "code" our Academic Course room reservations separately than events that Users submit. The Academic Course room reservations are imported into MasterLibrary from an external source. Can an Event Type be created that is hidden from Users, but Admins can assign a reservation this Event Type when doing the Import OR can change the Event Type of an existing reservation in the system?
