Editing Event Details

If I am editing the details of multiple events, for example an event that starts at 3:30pm in multiple spaces, I can edit all of them to start at 3:00pm instead. When I am editing those events, it's necessary to check the box for the start time in order for that to save. Why, if I edit the information, does it not automatically check that box for me?
