Inactivating choices in Multi Select Dropdown field options

I was trying to edit a Multi Select Dropdown field and found out that once you have a request with those options chosen in the system, you can no longer edit those options

You can add new options but there is also no way to inactive the other options. Having to inactive the entire field and recreate it just to change one option is very cumbersome. If we had an option to inactive options since we can add new ones that would be a massive improvement to the system
